Prints & Papercuts

For the last week I've been busy organizing prints and frames (and getting lots of papercuts in the process!) for my latest group exhibition. I'm so used to seeing my work on a computer screen, it's really nice to see my illustrations printed in real life  :)

Decluttering

It's been a while since I've posted any new stuff, but I've been busy decluttering! That means throwing out all my old work-in-progress sketches & prints. Looking back on the colour options I did for my Frankettes illo. Ah the memories!

Domestic Etch Growth & Decay

Earlier this year, I posted about the Frankettes illustration I did for Domestic Etch Magazine. I received a copy of the mag in the post, and was super happy to see that the electric pink and green colours pop off the page!

Frankettes

Presenting my latest illustration... Frankettes!

I created this for Domestic Etch Magazine, they asked if I would come up with something for their theme of 'growth & decay.' I have wanted to do a Frankenstein-girl illustration for a super long time, and this was the perfect opportunity!

To address the growth & decay theme, I wanted to take a well-known image or person and 'zombiefy' them. I ended up basing the illustration around a photo of the 1960's girl group The Ronettes. I was debating whether to make the image yuckier by adding decaying skin and worms, but decided not to. The Frankettes may be an electric psychobilly punk group, but they are still classy!

Zombie Turkey Hand

I entered this into the Sourpuss Hand Turkey contest. So fun to draw! I think I will do some more Frankenstein-themed illustrations in the future.
